A summer of English learning has drawn to a successful close at Capital University of Economics and Business (CUEB, 首都经济贸易大学). James Foster has completed his teaching on the July–August summer camp and is delighted to congratulate everyone who took part in its English for Academic Purposes (EAP) programme.
For students preparing for the next stage of their education, academic English is about more than learning new vocabulary. It is about finding the confidence to ask questions, share ideas and take an active part in university life. The summer programme offered a valuable opportunity to focus on that journey before the new term begins.
Congratulations to everyone that took part. It has been a real pleasure to work with you over the summer and to support you as you prepare for the next stage of your studies. Preparing for an international future
CUEB’s international study pathways connect preparation in China with opportunities to continue studying overseas. Its published 2026 undergraduate prospectuses include routes to the UK, Singapore and Malaysia, with 1+3 and 2+2 study patterns available across different programmes. Academic English is an important part of preparing for the communication and independent learning that international study can involve.
James was delighted to contribute to this preparation through the summer EAP programme. His aim is to make English a practical tool students can use to express their knowledge, engage with others and approach new academic challenges with greater confidence.
With the upcoming term starting on 7 September, many of the summer camp students will continue learning with James. For now, the message is a simple one: congratulations, enjoy the break, and best of luck for the next chapter.
